binliner 0
I had to keep to a steady 60, we went up and down that stretch about 5 times, holding up the traffic!... we got some cool rolling shots though for his VW driver feature and he swapped cars and took some rolling shots of mine on the way back
Pittuf 0
nice.....both yours and the mk4 were looking sweet, couldn't keep my eyes off my rear view mirror

Pittuf 0
Cheers guys.Yes Rich, had the sides done completely, arches rolled and pulled and all rust noew gone. Still need to get the front end sorted though....sometime next year for that though.
six appeal 53
Very nice John, those wheels make all the difference!

badboyV6 4
Looking lovely Jon, those wheels relly set the car off - i remember the days of tsw's mate ;-) What width are those wheels at the back?
Pittuf 0
lol....oh the venoms...soon to be put back on for the winter i'm afraid....may have to invest in a new set of winter wheels for next year. The CR7's are 8.5" all round Warren. Get a small amount of rubbing on one of the rears, but I that is the one with the leaking damper so the suspension may not be working as well. Not a single bit of scrubbing elsewhere since i've had the arches done though.
francisjonno 2
Looking very niceAre your rims 16" or 17" x 8.5" - looks nice and fat either way
Pittuf 0
They are 17's Jonno. Immense scrubbing before I got the arches done.....there was no way I was gonna raise the car though...lol
VR6Rich 3
Which side is it rubbing Jon? I think there are quite a few people (including myself) who have had rubbing on the drivers side rear. Even when I put my new konigsports on!
Pittuf 0
Its the near/passenger side Rich, no rubbing anywhere else. That is the damper that has been leaking, need to send it off and get it fixed, just a pain in the arse really.
francisjonno 2
Looks good... how far have you had the arches pulled? From the pics it look like you've managed to pretty much keep the original shape of the aches.PS. thanks for the advice re signature
Pittuf 0
No probs fella. How far have they been pulled......good question.....the answer being I have no idea. I left it with the body shop and they did what they felt necessary.....I did ask them to keep the flat to keep it looking standard.
jonvr6highline 0
Unrelated but...3 Jon's in the same post. That is unusual. Usually there are many John's but not Jon's.I'm a Jon, not a Jonathan! Thank you very much! 8)
francisjonno 2
Stealthy Did it take a lot of spray work? Finish as good as you hoped?
Pittuf 0
lol....well spotted. I had both sides sprayed completely. There had been some work done (badly) before I owned the car so I needed to get that sorted as well, plus I had the sills redone at the front where the car had been jacked up and it had all bent over and rotted away, so there was quite a lot of work done. All four arches had rust cut out and plates welded in as well.Quality of the work I would say was very good....it certainly looks alot better then it did before, and I am very happy with the results.
francisjonno 2
Sounds like the sort of work mine needs (shocking finish on rear arch following an indiscretion by a previous owner + rusty sills)You can tell me to f off but roughly what does the work you've had done cost? (you don't have to answer, understand if you don't want everyone to know) :?
Pittuf 0
you have a pm winging its way to you now mate.
