Pittuf 0
Ok, so I removed my original sony head umit today, had to removed 5 or 6 screws to remove the front plastic surround and was treated to a lovely ear piercing alarm but I knew that was gonna happen. The question is, what does the black plug, (not the ariel) do which said BUS in the head unit. (I think it said bus, I was more intrested in wrapping up the head unit in blankets to try and dull the noise x) )Also the ariel is not gonna fit my kenwood unit, are adaptors available?Cheers guys and gals
VRmonster 1
the bus cable is possably the cd changer cable, which unfortunately wont fit into the kenwood. and yes, there are adaptors for your arial. try autoleads from motorworld, or pretty much any decent audio shop. Glyn Mk3 0
When i changed my headunit I found it was connected to the BUS cable, but the car had no CD changer! Also found a BUS splitter box in the passenger foot well but it wasn't connected to anything else.

andy c 0
Smash the Sony head unit, I had too to stop the alarm!I think the BUS wire is standard fit to VW's with SONY's, I was luck because its the same cable as used in my Alpine. The one supplied wouldn't reach the boot!

Pittuf 0
Fortunately, 4 towels and 2 rather thick/large sheets was enough to knock out most of the sound. Hid it under my bed as well. Just a faint whistle was left.
