Ferrari VR6 0 Posted October 20, 2005 Report Share Posted October 20, 2005 I'm leaving the country after xmas and am gonna put my VR into dry storage while i'm away, i could be away for sevral months if not a year or more...What should i do to it to make sure it stays in good condition and still works when i get back?Cheers,Dave. The RAC say recommend it if you are laying up the car for 12 months+, but I would err on the side of caution and take the weight off them. Also, prob a good idea to ask for advice on best place to support the car from when on blocks. i read that on some cars the jacking point isnt necessarily the best place to long term lift the car. VRmonster 1 Posted October 20, 2005 Report Share Posted October 20, 2005 it would be the subframe and rear axle mounting points, mine was up there for about 3 months while i messed around with the conversion. didnt budge at all and theyre the strongest parts of the car. also, go over the susspension and brakes etc with some degreaser before you go, as then no dirt can get grimed on there, never to come off.
