squeak 0
hey everybody, this is a question for my dad because he's having issues with his corrado vr6 and has been for some time, but i'm unable to work out if its obd i or ii - but either way what i need to work out is exactly what i need to be able to talk to it and read the codes...i have an obd II code reader (a generic one) which plugs in correctly and lights up but just says 'error' when you try and read codes, but works fine with a subaru and other makes etc.i've read your section on obd I and II but nothing seems to line up, and one thing i can't seem to find anywhere is anything which relates specifically to the corrado vr6 and not the golf...is there a definitive answer for the corrado or can anybody point me in the direction of someone who knows?it has pins 4,5,7,14,15,16 connected on the connector if that helps!?ANY help appreciated!!cheers,- - rob - -
Geastb 0
I was always under the impression that corrados were all obd1? has the engine got a dizzy or coilpack?
mightyvr6 0
Take a look at www.corrado.net for more info. There's a specific section on diagnositics here:www.the-corrado.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7209
FishWick 21
Yeah all Corrado VR6s are OBD1, certainly in the UK at least. 95 on Corrados did get the Transponder and MAF elements of OBD2 though, but the fuelling etc was still OBD1.The best tool for reading codes is VAG-COM and a laptop. www.ross-tech.com
