its just an enclosed air filter at the end of the day....which is what it is when standard

just fitting mine, where is the best place for the cold air feed?

IF you have air con then remove carbon canister if you don't have air con then in front of carbon canister as there is a gap

thanks for the reply, i do have air con, but am not sure what you mean by removing the canister

There is a black canister by the fluid container down near drivers side of front bumper/wing. It has 2 tubes going in to it. just take it out and route pipework for cold air thro there

ok, do i then refit the canister somewhere else?

No....mines still in the boot. I think they just absorb vapours from fuel tank. The 2 pipes on top, black one needs blocking off and feed t'other one down wing as it vents fuel vapour

if you want you can get some barbs and use some fuel hose to route the pipes under the front bumper and round to the other side (symetrically) where there are identical mounting holes...very easy job, ofc removal is probably the easiest.

The canister collects and holds the fuel vapour, when the engine is up and running a valve opens and the contents are sucked into the engine and burnt off! well thats how it goes on mine :| if you do remove it make sure you blank off the pipes as you dont want to suck any thing nasty up the pipe and into the engine!
