FishWick 21 Posted September 26, 2005 Report Share Posted September 26, 2005 The various trims are explained here:- http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/products/units/V1s and 2s are 1000 and 1200 CFM, V9s are smaller physically and much quieter, 800cfmV9 should give more than 250hp if the engine is healthy. OBD2 adapts to charging much better than OBD1. OBD1 can cause headaches as knock control is crap, too slow and the tables don't have enough scope. You really need to inter or charge cool the inlet, or use water injection with neat methanol (60/40) or meth' spirits.All Vortechs are reliable if properly installed. There are reports of units covering 100,000 miles with no appreciable wear, but that is the interval for inspection/rebuild.Yep the bearings take an oil feed from the oil filter housing, left sensor is T'd off. The vortech v1 and 2 are larger chargers than the v9 and produce more boost. They all use engine oil for lubrication and are very reliable. Link to post Share on other sites

I was initially asking as I saw an Ebay advert for one however on reading the ad more closely and hearing other comments it seems a bit dodgy. So the search goes on for a s/c. I've seen a ZR supercharger advertised on here but had no replies to my enquiry about it - I'm not sure if it was Ultimate Tune... has he advertised in the classifieds?
