Hey im new to the site so i apologise if this has been covered befroe, or if im posting in the wrong section

Could anyone give me a nice step by step guide on how to replace my rear wheel bearings please? Are there any special tools i need excep a torque wrench. Im not a complete fool when it comes to tinkering but have to confess im more used to the two wheeled variety...

Thanks in advance and great site

P.S does anyone know where i can get a manual equivilant to a haynes for the car as it would be very handy

Cheers

Thanks nick i assume its the same process putting them as on the bike i.e gettin a socket with the same diameter as the outer race of the bearing? Whats the best way to get them out?

Sorry for all the silly questions just deciding wether i can do it my self ans save 40quid a side for it to be done "proffesionally"

Thanks for all your help

Joe

Once you have the hub removed take the seals off and bearings and that will leave the bits that are pressed into the hub , if you get a chissel and hit the inner edge (Fatest side) of the bearing from the opposit side then the bearing will come out very easy, when putting the new one's in just make sure you start them off square and they will go in easy, when you get to the last bit use a socket to push it home.

Check that is butted right upto the hub flange put the new greesed bearings in ,refit inner seal. put the rest back together. job done
