Climate Control!!!

Recommended Posts

hi guys,

i have a concern about the climate control unit,

when the engine is idling at normal speed the air con throws out warm/hot air, whilst im driving and the engine speed increases the air tends to get colder as it should be to start with, then upon stopping again the air gets warmer,

any ideas what this could be? it is also happening on a mates passat and a mates golf V5

please help..... ?!

I had a similar situation a few months back.

It was nothing to do with needing a "recharge" It was one of the electrical radiator fans. It was not switching on with the AC. Thus, no ac at idle but it worked ok at higher speeds, ie when there was the airflow over the ac condenser.

Check the fuse on top of your battery, it's a big bugger. 50 amp I think.

If it keeps blowing, check the fan. The fans have 2 speeds. (Low and high) If the fan starts in high then it will blow the fuse, leading to no ac.

Long reply, but we got there in the end :)

Hope it helps.
