cadguy77 0
I developed a undetermined rattle coming from the engine at low rpm's. It's not an overly loud rattle but I'm concerned. !sad If i throttle gentle while at stand still I can hear the rattle kick in about 1500rpm then dissapears about 2500rpm. Due to engine noise I can't hear it above 2500rpm.Also reappears while reving down in the same range.I only noticed after pulling away quite fast last friday and it's really bugging me. ~Has anyone get any advise to what it might be (chains, valves, etc.). VR6Pete 1,455
where is it coming from? If it's the gearbox side of the engine, it may well be chains! what milage has it done?If it's a more of a general top end rattle, it could be tappets i suppose.Pete
Nerih 0
yeah, if it is the gearbox (passenger side uk) end then its the chains and if its rattling it means something is busted or lose inside, get it fixed asap!!!!!
cadguy77 0
I think it's coming from the chain side, but it's going into the garage this weekend. It's my daily drive so need it tip top shape. I'll get the guy to check it out asap, don't fancy the chain slipping on me.
