shail 0
My side skirts are fooked - rusting and peeling. I'm going to take them off, but how do i get the strip that is attached to the side of the car which the sideskirt fits to? Dont want to mess up my paintwork. Any tips? VR6Rich 3
You can either use a hot air gun or use very hot water like I did. Then try and get it started on the end and strip it off slowly and carefully.
badboyV6 4
mate this is a right mare- ive done mine and VR6Rich's now....best way (as the adheive is really strong) is if you look at the edge of one side, you will see a hole thats part of the strip use a small screwdriver to slightly prise the strip off (its completely safe as with the screwdriver in the hole its not touching any metal or paintwork) once youve got the edge off you will then be able to peel it off- do it very slowly- your paint wont come off so dont worry! ;-) you will have foam and adhesive left from the pads that keep it on. Use white spirit or thinners to clean this down- it will take a while though.....
shail 0
Cheers for that lads. One more question - after you've removed the strip, would it be possible to stick it back on in the future - or does peeling it off bend/warp it out of shape?
badboyV6 4
you can buy new adhesive backed plastic runners- bin the ones chief...

sijo 0
When you buy say/m3 style side skirts, do you take the old ones off ? or just bolt them over the top ? Mine are rusty as well, such a good design, not.
