bodge job not a happy bunny at all

Recommended Posts

got my car back yesterday, someone ran into the back of me so needed new back bumper and tailgate. It's come back with the badges on wrong, one on either side??? looks stupid, fucks sake they saw the car before they repaired it!!! They also stuck the brake light in the wrong place with pritt pads???? looked a joke. I'm also missing the front bumper grills, the black one's that go either side under the lights??? Why they're gone I've no idea???? They've missed the middle screw for the tailgate spolier so there's a wacking gap in the middle????I'm reluctant to give it them back!

any suggestions welcome, will removing the badges take the paint off?? Is there an easy of removing them without breaking em? how can i attach the brake light, how are they normally stuck to the glass???

Give it back to them to sort out, they deserve one chance to rectify it. The various methods of removing the bages do work - but this body shop may have used different glue which may peel your paint. Just give it back & say you're not happy with the result. Just stay calm and sensible etc...After all, i dont think you're being picky with the problems you mention.

Send it back... and this time (assuming U arent absoluutely desperate to get it back on the road), refuse to take it back without doing full inspection yourself - reputable bodyshops always go over the car before it leaves with the owner to make sure he's happy - and usually require the car to be "signed out" and back into your posession..

You've paid for it, so demand a top job !

Did you go through your insurance? If so, then the onus is on them to act as the intermediary. You can request another accident repair specialist and get a courteousy car also. The insurance should also underwrite the repairs and guarantee them also (I would check this part, but I know mine do). Make a list of all the errors and as Shail says, stay calm but be firm and persistant.

the work should be covered by some sort of guarentee/warranty anyway if they're a reputable company. take it back and give them the chance to put it right! may have been some yts numpty who knows nowt about cars putting the finishing touches on!

it's through his insrance , they made me use nationwide crash repair centre 'chain' they are wank, the boot lid is the right colour at least. It's going back tomorrow, the work is guaranteed for three years, needs to be as well judging by thier bollocks workmanship, better than an economic write off though eh lads

the thing that bothered me most was the missing grills, fair enough they bodged it but taking parts off, took it in today and they had another look, i noticed a hole in the boot glass witha rubber plug , any ideas what this is for, it's not a spoiler hole, it's about the size of a penny in the right hand corner. ANyway they've ordered new badges two grills and are gonna put the brake light and spoiler on properly . I showed them where to put the badges lol!!!
