purpledragon 0
Can an engine with a Dizzy be swapped with one with a coil pack? Can the parts be swapped over? Its for a Corrado 2.9, been offered a low miler but it has a dizzy and mine has a coil.CheersStan
shail 0
Yes it can. I've done it in mine - 2.9 corrado block but with my original coil pack instead of the dizzy. IIRC you just need to use your (coilpack) wiring loom etc... I also kept the maifold and throttle body from my 2.8.

shail 0
I'd be out of my depth if i answer this one im afraid, as i had all the work carried out on mine by a mechanic. Im sure someone will be along in a bit to give you the 'ins and outs' of it all.
FishWick 21
If you've got the two engines side by side then it's relatively straight forward but there are wiring issues to overcome. To use the coilpack on a dizzy engine, you need:-The cam cover end plateCam sensor with it's plug and loomCoilpack with it's plug and loomCoilpack HT leads You might need the ECU aswell as I'm not sure if the dizzy ECUs have the software for cylinder selective timing or not, which the coilpack engines use.The wiring looms then terminate into the big twist-lock connector......and again, I don't know how the dizzy and CP engines differ there....
