If you prefer a manual or you have diagnosed a fault with the auto gearbox that requires an expensive repair then the best value proposition is sell or break the auto and buy a manual. There are vehicles listed on here from £2k to £4k that are almost show quality. If you do the swap it will cost you money that you will never get back in the value of the car.
