stockers 1
hi all, i want to get my external door trim colour matched to the car but the body shop bloke at the garage said he could'nt spray them as he has to rub them down to key the surface which would lose the grain on the plastic . is'nt there a product that can be spraayed on to key the surface?? &| i thought just going over it with white spirit would be enough to degrease it so the primer would bond????????? dubloke 4
tbh it will look pants if you just paint over the textured surface! find some late cl trims that came colour coded from factory and get those painted to match your car? it will look a million times better imo! antera309 3
Yes, they're too expensive new. Go second-hand and you should be able to get the lot for less than 50 quid.Strictly Dubs had a couple of sets in stock last time I was there.
stockers 1
do you need to remove the door cards to install the new exterior trim ?
Petesvw 0
No you dont need to remove door cards. A good body shop should be able to flat the texture and high build prime them, thus losing said texture effect. ; )

antera309 3
do you need to remove the door cards to install the new exterior trim ?No, but you may need a few of the white retaining clips for the side trim - these are notorious for breaking when you remove the trim.
