JakeP 53
Hi it's been bugging me for a while , what is this for , I know it has vacuum lines into it and they attach to a plastic pipe that fits into the side of the intake manifold , is it actually useful or not ? c00k 435
It's a vacuum purge solenoid, it's meant to help with fuel trimming on UK VR's I belive. There common on a lot of VW engines, but from my understanding there mainly used for EGR (exsaugh gas recirculating) valves, or SAI (secondary air injection) but UK spec VR don't have either of these. Where US spec do have them. So on UK VR's it can only be used for fuel trimming from my knowledge. Also so yours looks like it's missing the top cap / cover over the circular section.
