rsweeney 40
from memory there are two types of gasket depending on the year, the early type which had a thin paper gasket with shorter bolts or the later types which used a rubber gasket and longer bolts. If it was me i'd use something like well seal with either type of gasket to make sure they seal properlyhttp://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stag-Wellseal-Gasket-Jointing-Compound-100ml-The-Best-for-Rover-K-Series-/141654413847?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20fb42d217
Reaperx 181
I have done hundreds of sumps and always used sealant and never had a leak. But that's mainly due to parts companies not supplying the gasket so my preference is to use sealant but each to their own.
