dusty_mauve 0
Just wanted to say a big thanks to Paul & Simon @ Strictly Dubs for the conversion, and for staying late on Friday night to get it finished for this weekend. I've done 400 miles and not one problem so far, so a big THANKS for your quality work guys! Also thanks to Waynee for supplying what seems to be a stormer of an engine. Not the best pic in the world but only the one I have so far. Polished manifold, alternator and detailed engine cover to follow. Too busy enjoying the speed and noise rushes at the moment! For thos ethat aren't aware, the car started out like as a 2l 8 valve GTIhttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/dustymauve/VR.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/dustymauve/Car/BBT11.jpghttp://img.photobucket.com/albums/v284/dustymauve/Car/BBT3.jpg

antera309 3
I bet it felt good when you heard that VR start up for the first time!!Got any plans for additional mods now the engine's in?
dusty_mauve 0
Thanks for the +ve responses guys, I absolutely love the VR, the way it dirves and most importantly the noise! I've been like a kid waiting for christmas for the last 3-4 weeks, but it was SO worth the wait!As for mods, it's already got the Ram Air filter, a full Jetex cat back system, and has had head work previously, though to what spec. I'm not sure.Future mods are going to be cams, and either a Schrick manifold or a charger, but that's a year or so away. More short term, I'm going to get it set up properly on the rollers and have it custom mapped for the mods it's got now, and then enjoy it for a bit!
