spuds_own 3 Posted October 25, 2013 Report Share Posted October 25, 2013 Hi guys After getting another Vr in may it has been faultless until last Saturday, travelling down the m18 at about 70 ish , it lost all power so i coasted to the hard shoulder tried starting it again just turned over but would not fire.I had the Rac out and they read the codes, all that came in was lambda and engine speed sensor. So he checked th spark and nothing .... Ive changed the crank position and still nothing any help would be greatly appreciated Cheers in advance stewart Link to post Share on other sites
Ickyketseddie 89 Posted October 25, 2013 Report Share Posted October 25, 2013 Is yours coil pack or dizzy?? My old dizzy one got wet once and the ignition coil died. Cheap and cheerful fix if it's that. Best to post your spec engine and exactly where the rac guy tested the spark from. Ickyketseddie 89 Posted October 25, 2013 Report Share Posted October 25, 2013 Well the coil packs are prone to failure, but I think that normally causes missing rather than total loss. Cespo500 1 Posted November 17, 2013 Report Share Posted November 17, 2013 Check the coil pack plug for power, if there is power then take off the battery terms off touch them together for 20 seconds, then see if it starts. If it does not start the crank sensor is not good. Scan the ecu for codes. Link to post Share on other sites
