binliner 0
how loud is the click? can you feel it through the steering wheel?
jayvwvr6 0
i feel nothing through the steering wheel it gets louder as you pick up speed,it sounds just like a stone in the tyre but ive had wheels of and swapped front to backs and it still there,do you think i should buy the 2 new inner drive shafts and give that a go?i realy dont think its the inners as they aint flexing like the outer just turning, but the garage reckons as i go round a slight bend the pressure is putting the inner cv under pressure and making them click?if one of the innners were knackered wouldnt they click even when im driving straight or turning left? acf8181 0
he means the bar that goes form top of gearbox mount to the side of the gearbox casing (so kind of under the battery)....we noticed the other day fabio doesn't have one and he'd been getting a weird clunk. on closer inspection it had caused the gearbox mount to rip itself out basically. jayvwvr6 0
my limping vr6 is now doing this clicking sound in a straight line but only above 50ish,the sound is definatley coming from drivers side front, should i do the 2 inner cv joints even though the gear box is more to the passenger side and im getting the noise from the drivers side? could this noise be any thing to do with the belt tensioner or belt its self? any wild guesses welcomed!!!ill try anything now!!! cliveyp 0
I know this might sound a bit dumb, but i had an odd clicking on the Corrado that really got to me. When i took the wheel off, i found that they had not attached the brake pipe bracket to the bottom strut bolts when i had my camber done, and that was catching on the wheel weight. Really annoying, and simlar to yours, didn't do it all the time.
pete8tch 0
my gearbox mounting was completely split and it didnt make any noise, my first reaction when i read the post title was cv joint so maybe its the inner , you done everything else
