Just a quikie.

1. Does anyone know the spec for VW Synta oil ?!

2. Can you mix different oil when topping up ?! Its just that i've got Synta in the engine, and a stack of Magnatec in the shed & she needs topping up every now and then.

Provided the grade of oil is the same i.e 10w/40 to 10w/40 (example) then yes you could mix the oils. Personally I'd say that the Magnatec is a better oil than the Synta, So I'd go for that one but it's up to you... as stated make sure the grades are the same and genuine filters are used only.

You would be about right there 28v6r. Had the car since Sept 02 and just about done 10k in it. Probably changed the oil for various reasons about 5 times in that period. :-) (when i got it, when the chains were done, after the chains were done, when a new oil cooler was put on and those are just the one's I can remember!)

Six, both of us use MANN filters in our VR's. My other half is obsessed with hers and believe me if they were not right she would not have it in her car. Our mate looks after our cars for us and has a 16v himself and also uses MANN filters.

There really is no diference. The fuel filter however is smaller than the VW item, but again our mate said it was still ok to use.
