Charged vr6 0
Basically tested the performances of the car (ragged it quite a bit in other words) and noticed that when i was driving normally, the exhaust would like burb and burble(not so much like a pop, if u guys know what i mean) Is this normal for the car to do after its been pushed hard?and also when i press the clutch down, its kinda cringes and you can hear it standing out side when you press the clutch,(sound like the clutch needs replacing?)help would be greatthanks! antera309 3
Do you have an aftermarket exhaust or the standard one?My milltek system burbles on the overrun, which I believe is normal, but it does it regardless of whether I've been caning it or not...

Eat this 2
that noise is fantastic stop worrying wait till it does it when changing down at 4k rpm sounds like a rally car hehe
acf8181 0
yep, even with o.e. exhaust you'll get burbling on decelaration form high revs (even more if you heel and toe)not sure what you mean by the clutch 'cringing'! but if you mean you get a fairly quite clattering type of noise at idle, that goes away when you put the clutch in, then its most likely a nolisy release bearing...its not really a big deal, its very unlikely to fail and as it will be a big job to change its better to leave it. Charged vr6 0
Yeh a standard exhaust, yeh the car is fine now (the burbling) must of been the ragging.Am i wrong, but the harder you drive the vr the quicker it gets, as the head gasket etc was changed like couple of thousand miles ago (mine a pre 95 , k plate) so would it need breaking into again ? silverline 0
headgaskets dont need breaking in.some cars have a learning system where it learns how you drive and adjusts various things ie timing air/fuel mixture etc so you get best performance for your driving condition dont know if the vr is the same? perhaps later 1s?but over time engines will "loosen up" and tend to produce a couple more bhp which the vr does. mine is making 10bhp more than vw claim and thats a standard engine!! i think everyone on here can say the same about their vr
