Jimbo 0
Hi all,This is going to sound a bit funny but anyway, when sitting inside my vr6 with all doors and windows shut, it sounds like there is a hoover in the car!! I can hear this sort of hoover/huming sound, now it could of allways been there, but I cant remember it being there before, I have only had the car a couple of weeks, and had it serviced last week. When I accelerate the sound gets higher pitched, and lower pitch when braking/stopped. Could it be the fuel pump?? Any ideas???CheersJimbo

Jimbo 0
Hi acf8181It sounds like its coming from the boot area, so could well be the fuel pump then. do you think I should get it checked out??Cheers mate,Jimbo
shail 0
the only other thing in the boot is the central locking vacuum pump - i think its nestles by one of the rear lights inside a black polystyrene box. Just another thing to check i suppose.
