Vince12v 20
Hey chaps, I'm hoping to get my 312 brakes fitted over the weekend but there is something I'm not 110% on, which is what size bolts do I need for the caliper?
craggsy 91
What do you mean?Carrier to hub?If so I just reused my old ones mine was a 1997 if it made a difference
Vince12v 20
Yea for the carrier, just people are sayin the original bolt is too short, I got 96 highline
VR6Pete 1,455
I've been racking my brains, I can't remember if we covered these in the guides section.... Also have you tried searching the forums?
Vince12v 20
Yea it goes over it in the guide, but one person says m12 but then someone else says 12mm with fine pitch, and then craggsy said use the original bolts
russj249 2
M12 is 12mm the pitch I do no know, but the bolt is going to be something like M12x1, M12x1.25 or M12x1.5.Do you mean that you need an 8mm spacer for the 312mm carriers to locate central on the discs. So to do it properly you would need to match your standard carrier to hub bolts with an exact same bolt but 8mm longer.
Vince12v 20
OK, is it an 8mm spacer I need or a 6mm
VR6Pete 1,455
6mm that I do remember lol
Vince12v 20
Ha ha thanks pete
craggsy 91
As I said I reused mine and they were on for about 4 yrs with no problems what so ever. But you make your own decisions on that. The bolts are 1.5 pitch, but just take one out and go to a bolt place for one 6 mm longer if you prefer
Guy 1
Yes you deffo need 4 x 6mm spacers and the longer bolts.I fitted them up with new bolts off of the car and trimmed the bolts flush to the back of the flange. Incidentally I have a set of purpose made said spacers spare I'd be prepared to sell.

Vince12v 20
I had a look at the brakes today, and i don't think the original bolts are going to be long enough, so I think I'll have to look round for some longer ones
