SAW 3
Little build thread for my Mk3. Most of it is copy & paste from other forums, so I've added dates above parts so you know when things have happened.4th JANUARY 2013Bought this as a stop gap while waiting on our new house becoming available to reserve (I used to have a heavily tuned Civic which I eventually broke for parts)Basic run down of the spec. Making 285bhp and 245lb/ft torque. was worried to start with as it was only making 255 and then after letting the charger cool down it was 270, but he had forgotten to set the Dyno for a 6 cylinder car.Clean Pipes after a polish yesterdayOn the rollersOff the rollers before driving homeand the graphGood how the charger works. Isnt a constant 8 psi, only makes full boost once at full revs. Not even 5 psi by 5000rpm, so might be worth looking into a smaller pulley for more boost  Couple of videos will be posted later on once youtube stops being a paint in the rectuim From behind, can hear the charger whistle at the end of the videoIadAJank_jE again from behind, nice flame on the limiter Q-YFLZ66nrA and one from the front of the carz5cdEy6TaOY One thing i did notice was how much the car moved once it came off the limiter/revs, especially the back end being so soft and bouncing up and down. May need to invest in some stiffer suspension.3rd FEBRUARY Bought new wheels of a JDM variety. Couple quick picswith flash - kinda shows the metal in the colour. really nice colour.Enkei RPF1's. 17"x7.5", et48 and 5x100 Subaru fitment. Plan - get some spacers that change from bolt fitment to stud/nut arrangement and fit these (and obviously some tyres lol)TRIAL FITAs you can see, spacers defo required. 20mm Superformas with the stud/nut change then ordered along with some anodised red nuts to go with them. 7th FEBRUARY New tail lights cameCL's modified to be All Red1st MARCHWeather is amazing today so shit got did.Stickers and valves on the wheelsRear light swap overBeforeDuringAfterTyres fitted to wheels. 195/40/17 Continental Conti Contact Sport 3'sWaiting game for spacers and nuts. Started doing this as well. Need a new internal clip and also lamin-x for the glass once dry. 13th MARCHSuperforma came through with the goods27th MARCHone wee update. SUPERCHARGED badge has been removed31st MARCHSpacers/wheels are semi fitted. Rear spacers aren't fitting flush to the hub. So only have the fronts correctly fitted. Tried the rears on to see how the car looks and decide what will need done height wise. I'm thinking bring it down about 10mm allround. What you guys think?Spacer issueAnd how it looks just now at current height. Chuffed to bits with how they look. Pain in the backside about the rear spacers though.Superforma have agreed to machine the spacers to suit. I can either send them back to them to be done, or if a quote at a local machine shop is cheap enough they will pay for it.21stAPRILLowered the car some more and got the rear wheels on for keeps (spacers remachined by Superforma)10mm drop all round, still a bit front down heavy but the arch to tyre gap is the same all round. Just to get the front lighting sorted out and job will be more or less done Thats it up to now. Hope I haven't bored you all too much. I've got smoked front indicators, fogs, blanks and side repeaters still to fit, waiting on amber/orange lamps arriving. Also awaiting my lamin-x to finish and fit headlightsUpdates as and when they happen. Hope you like CheersSteve
VIW28 29
Not a fan of the wheels mate but live the rest of the car! You going to the SVag show in July? I'll be there, wouldn't mind a wee nosey round this
Dave_ciw 507
Always got a soft spot for Dragon Green. Nice motor mate had me confused at first OBD2 styling with OBD1 Brakes & Side Repeaters...
VR6Pete 1,455
looks great ! must be really fun to drive mate, and a real sleeper on the road. I used to have a Dragon Green VR6, loved it to bits! but I think I now love my Corrado more
Lukey. 381
Those wheels were very tight without spacers! Or were they totally fouling?
SAW 3
Thanks guys. Yea Highline exterior on an earlyish VR makes it look pretty tidy. The wheels were 100% fowling the caliber so a spacer was defo needed. Et48 so plenty space to work with. Will hopefully have new pics up end of next week once front lights are done. Looking for a show cage as well but spoke to hot-tuning and have none in stock for 3-4 months. SAW 3
1st MAYSmoked side repeaters fittedSmoked front indicators, fogs & blanks fittedJust headlights to change and exterior wise it's pretty much done. Maybe get a standard spoiler and have it fitted to see what it looks like. Who knows. Time to focus on the interior. Took couple more pics but was too dark to get anything decent out the iPhone. Get proper pics once the headlights are done.
SAW 3
Bought some shortened number plates. Went to change the rear one but there is a slight paint chip on a position the plate won't cover so will get it touched up a wee bit first. Either that maybe buy a modified tailgate and have it painted. See what happens, can't be bothered with that much hassle really. Took lots more pics as well while I was bored and took it a wee run as well. Awesome car!!!! Can't wait for lamin-x to arrive and can get those angel eyes to foooook!!!!!I want to tint the number plate. What's best to use, light smoke lamin-x??Really happy with the height of the car how it has settled. Handling is still decent but 100% need to change them for something stiffer. Pretty sure one if not both rears are burst.
