rite im uprating all the engine mounts.new gaskets all round getting the bores honed etc.

doing the chains at the same time please could some one post up the parts i need for my obd1 engine to do the chains.i.e the mk4 part numbers if i can use them any help would be great i have read most of the post on here but i aint sure what i need for the obd1 please help

get them from gsf....are identical to what you'd get from vw, but cost half the price

heres a screen print form etka, which shows all the parts (you wont need new sprokets by the way, and the washer comes with the 'bolt' tensioner - apart form them you need every item) - http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v50/acf8181/various/chains.jpg - best thing to do is print it off and take it into gsf to make sure you get the lot.

if you want, you can post up here the gsf part no's for others to go off in the future

its your call...i didnt bother. you'll have to search on this site for the mkIV part no's tho, i dont know them.

The ETKA diagram you see gives the part number for the earlier type of tensioner. The new type tensioner is the same part number except the last letter is B apposed to A.

i just got the normal bits too, couldnt be fussed, its not like ill drive my car another 100,000 miles and not rebuild it, so when i do, ill change the tensioners again, lol.
