I have nice new (well 2nd hand) heated leather seats now. Here they are:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=9889&item=2467148738&ssPageName=STRK:MEBWA:IT

Only £350. Someone was wanting to come up from Plymouth to pick them up, hope it wasn't anyone from here, if so sorry :) but i got them.

Any one had any problems in fitting seats in the past?? The backs will be a piece of piss to do but the fronts may be harder, anything i should look out for or be careful with?

My old seats will be up for sale soon including the door cards. I am going to keep the leather door cards (sorry antera309).

Just another question:

Has anyone got a center arm rest in the rear seats?? My old set have. Just wondering if this is rare cos nobody has seen that before (leathers don't have this).

The pattern of the seats is in this pic ( http://www.vr6golf.co.uk/vr6oc_files/public/p1010031.jpg )

and nobody up here has seen that before (any ideas??)

Finally any ideas on a price?

Any help or ideas would be great.

I am in Dundee, Scotland if anyone is interested.

Yer a wicked Man ...with a monicur like that on the end of yer mail!! :-)

Nice seats though look the part, well worth a **sniff**.

Once bought use Gliptone or Leatherique to restore them as new, use a latex glove to work in the feed/revitaliser as it forces the leather to absorb more...then sit back, relax and enjoy the smell of leather!! (I'm Jealous already!!!) :-)

Nice one Buddie!! Good on yer!!

Regards

Never seem a golf with a rear armrest, but I'll probably be proven wrong by someone here who has one! ;)

No idea what you could sell it for, but I'm sure someone would want it. I guess you'll have to sell it as a set though, as the pattern won't match their fronts.

Mike,

found them on e-bay on monday morning, had made a deal by monday night. Only got taken off e-bay last night.

It was a guy in perth that was selling them.

Nick

Will be selling as a full set including door cards.

Problem is i'm in scotland so the market is going to be smaller up here than say London and thus it will be reflected in the price to.

Away off to fit them now, should be a fun day. only doing backs today, waiting till i get the heating loom before the fronts.

Any hints on getting the door cards off??

You got a bargain there. If the guy hadn't have ended the auction early, he could have fetched £600 for that stuff no problem.

Fitting of the seats is straightforward. I did mine in 30 minutes. You'll need a set of Torx (6-point star) sockets, a pair of pliers and a big screwdriver.

The rear seat base is a straight bolt on (the hinges unbolt from the chassis).

To remove the rear backrest, first tilt them forwards, then look for two hooks at the bottom corners. These are pulled back using the screwdriver. In the centre (where the two halves of the backrest meet) there are 2 circlips that are screwdrivered out, allowing both parts of the backrest to be lifted up and out.

The fronts slide straight out (rearwards) once you remove the retaining pin at the front of the centre guide rail and the plastic trims from the back of the runners (the inboard one just pops off, the outboard one is held in with a metal clip). Installation is the reverse of removal.

The door cards are a stright swap, unless you want to sell them to me! ;-)

I have seen that MKIV have rear armrests, but not MKIII's.

Not that I am after leather, (already got it in purple :P ) but I look at VR6 parts most days on E-bay, didn't come up with that on Monday. Strange!!!

Anyway, the picture of them looks like you got a bargain!!!

Nice one! ;)

Take out the section of the door handle where the window switch is (it pulls off, you might have to lever it with a screwdriver). There are two screws holding the card to the door, undo them. Unclip the window switch. Unscrew and remove the door pin. Disconnect the main speaker. Then it pulls off.
