ollie_ 0
Ok, here's my funky little situation.I've got a VR that was built by GTi Engineering before it was registered, so has 270 cams and had a map to suit. It's then had a CAE intake, 6 branch, decat, suitcase delete, and a powerflow mid box and rear boxIt was then apparently mapped to suit these mods, and then i bought it.At this point, the power band came in at about 3750rpm, and was ludicrous after that, all top end power as apposed to normal low down VR power. Sounds like a motorbike apparently!NOW then, in prep for my turbo set up, i took out the mid box so i was left with a 1 box system. It feels to have spread the power band out a bit more, with a less violent kick into the power band higher up...What i cant figure out is if i've just lost power in general by doing this, or whether it's spread out the power band a bit more. Seems to pull just as well up top, but without the violent kick into the powerband....What do we reckon chaps?Ollie
CALICO 130
What does it matter if you are going turbo . I doubt you would loose power from a box delete but without a before and after power run nobody can say.
Daverse 175
When you take boxes out of an exhaust, you lose back pressure in the engine, so you will lose a bit of torque (And messing with the fueling a bit, but negligable really) which could be the reason, but if you are going turbo, then the issue will soon be fixed
FishWick 21
I presume it's very loud with only 1 silencer too, so the different exhaust note might be playing mind tricks on you....
