Hello everybody. I am pretty new to the site but finding my around and some good info so far so thank you already.

I have said hello in the newbie section but thought I would post a bit about myself, car, background, and new aquired vr. So myself - coming from a background of performance cars -clio v6, escort cosworth, and evo 6rs ive now turned to the vr. I work for Bentley which is handy for the vw group discount which ive already had the pleasure at my local dealer/stealers!!

So back to the new vr, I have bought it totally standard blue, 96 n reg which has covered 117k. The car some people may recongnise? It has the owners club sticker under the interior mirror.

Having been driving the car almost 2 weeks now i'm still loving the sound and smoothness of the car. I am currently in the process of getting the little things right on the car to start with. Just fixed the water leak around the n/s rear lamp (with a lot of messing about to get it to seal) I have just flushed the coolant through today getting rid of the horrible brown rusty water and replaced with lovely pink coolant. Oil and filter will be changed early next week. (Awaiting delivery from Opie)

I'm pretty sure the chains have not been replaced, well i can't find a receipt of any history into the engine sounds really quiet and smooth with a nice power delivery and no rattles or odd noises.

Plans for the car will be a nice set of coilovers/induction kit, full exhaust inc manifold/alloys hopefully this year. Next year a low mileage engine change with either s/charger or t/charger, look into polish & porting the head with gasket matching and maybe cam. So good quality second hand parts or new ill be on the look out.

Here she is as of 2 days after buying -

Also quick question which is peoples preffered tuners/suppliers? I like doing work myself where I can but stuff like re-mapping where would i need to go?

Cheers guys/galls Steve

Bonjour welcome and looking good. Also worth a premium membership for those discounts off everything insurance/parts/etc... and the how to guides for those cams :D and As said Stealth is a big hit on here :D

Have joined as a premium member, I believe in putting something back into club/forums as knowledge and info from fellow members is invaluable, and share my findings as I go along also.
