rsweeney 40 Posted April 27, 2012 Report Share Posted April 27, 2012 its on a 5door golf, door hasnt dropped as far as i can see. door card on drivers door keeps catching everytime i open door .i replaced all clips with oem ones and the bottom of the card clips in but then pops out whenever you use door.with it not staying attached to the clips the door card then catches.Is the plastic door card maybe bent and if so how can i sort this ? cheers , rich Link to post Share on other sites
CALICO 130 Posted April 28, 2012 Report Share Posted April 28, 2012 You can replace the plastic part by taking the door panel off and unscrewing it from the cloth/leather part fairly easy. You haven't got overdeep speakers in the doors pushing the panel off have you? Link to post Share on other sites

rsweeney 40 Posted September 22, 2012 Author Report Share Posted September 22, 2012 right an update, took the golf to a bodyshop for this , they looked at it for free and advised on how to fixit :they said that the waterproof membrane was a little bit tight and one side of the door was slightly dented in.with the two of these problems added together there was to much of a stretch between the bottom of the door car and the door for the clips to be strong enough to clip in. slackening the waterproof membrane and straightening the door out with a slide hammer should fix it .Havent tried this yet as i dont own a slide hammer but will update when i do !
