yakuza racer 16
AHOY gents, got my old big valve head from a previous build, needs new valves and cleaning up.. question:which will be better running on a stock bottom end;1. ported and flowed "stock" vr head2. ported, flowed, 3 angled valves, big valved headim asking because last time i fitted this head my car didn't perform as well, prob due to the valves leaking, but will my stock ecu be able to handle it or is a chip a must?thanks
michael5556 247
Shouldn't leak at all? Something's not right if they are leaking! And definitely the large valve head will perform better. More air etc getting in/out.
yakuza racer 16
the head had been standing for very long, the seats gets hard and seeps....going to check if a valve is maybe bent..now spend cash on fixing the big valve head or port and flow my current stock head... yakuza racer 16
cams is imposible to get around these parts...... looking at saving for a set 268 road cams and remap....
michael5556 247
Yeah agree. Spend money on the big valve head. Unless its cracked or something. Maybe get it tested?
FishWick 21
Big valve head is a good move and that + cams is even better. If the valve seats have gone a bit rusty, running the engine will soon get rid of that! My r32 head was the same. Left in a garden for 2 years. Completely rusted up inside but a 100 miles later it was running perfect!
