Gazbarber1982 3
You need to reset the ecu to factory settings. Nothing to do with the clocks on a mk3
Andi 0
Oh rite and how do I do that ? It will be a complete ecu swap that I'm doing. Not just the chip.
cbmotorsport 0
Have you got access to vag-com? You need to do it with that, aslong as your key matches your immo box then you can pair the ecu to it.
Andi 0
I have genuine vag.comWhat do i need to to to reset it ?
Caddyslammed 16
Is the immo box inside the ecu, or somewhere else?
Andi 0
It's part of the dash clocks assy.

cbmotorsport 0
The immo box is not part of clocks on a mk3 , its behind and to the left of them on a seperate bracket, using vag com, get into the car and do the following once vag com is open and connected[select][25 - Immobilizer]in there you will see a section that says something like 'coding' i forget exactly what it is , there will be a 5 digit pin starting with a 0. next, Close ControllerINSTALL THE NEW ECU then [select][25 - Immobilizer][Login - 11]4-digit PIN Enter zero followed by the 4-digit PIN. For example, if your PIN is 1234, enter 01234. (THIS NUMBER IS THE 5 DIGIT NUMBER YOU GAINED FROM THE ABOVE INSTRUCTION) [OK] VAG-COM will validate the data you have entered and return you to the Login screen, where the Login Code will show as "XXXXX". [Do it!][Adaptation - 10]Channel 000[Read][save][Done, Go Back][Close Controller, Go Back - 06]Switch OFF the ignition and after 5 seconds switch it ON again. Make sure NOT to start the car within the next 2 minutes. After that, try starting the engineThats what i did with mine, and it worked first time, both times. firstly when i put the ecu in the original car (as the ecu i had was not the original) and it also worked when i fitted the ecu into my golf, as i kept my original immo box and key.hope this helps
