paceo 22
on my golf vr6 the battery light was always on for about 1 month now, driven hard or normally. voltage check was 11.93 when car was running so battery was getting no charge. checked/cleaned all earths and wires and all ok so it was down to the alternator. bought a brand new 90amp alternator (i havent fitted it yet)!now today the battery light came off when driving hard! pulled into my drivaway battery light came on, revved it to 2000rpm and battery light went off! any ideas????? :-(
VR6Pete 1,455
fit the new alternator and see if that fixes it....
CALICO 130
The light is telling you at low revs the alternator is not giving enough power. Its a low charge light it may be just about giving enough to turn the light off but is fluctuating around. Not giving a constant 13v or whatever it should be. Fit the new one and report back. Seems strange that you buy a new alternator do not fit it and give symptoms of your car having a charging issue. (i)
