VR6Pete 1,455
for an induction kit.... no.... you may have to reset the ECU so it can re-calibrate it's self to pick up addtional air it's receiving....
tinny22 11
thanks for the replies i did have a k&n panel filterin but change it to the induction kit sound a lot betterhow do i set the ECUthanks tinny22
Seademon 0
To re-set the ECU I think its just a case of disconnecting the battery for about 20 mins or so & when you reconect it the ECU will learn the changes that it picks up as it re-trains itself - something like that anyway! badboyV6 4
No not yet bud - i know ive got to do it as its the only way of gauranteeing getting torque back...but as you say the horn is in the way. On my last one i didnt do it and TBH it felt pretty dead below 4k- i had an embarrasing momment with a proton GTI until i hit 85/90. For some reason i seem to remember that they say to relocate the horn....... i had to do this when i fitted a ramair kit to my last VR. It is a pain though- ideally need a pit or axle stands so you can do it properly... Strange though when ive fitted them before to 4 pots i could notice it as soon as i turned the key- with this couldnt- then i opened it up on the dual carriageway OMFG!!!! :-p
cliveyp 0
I remember it well.......the Corrado was completely stock as far as filter was concerned, then when i went for a blast in the Highline and i opened it up properly heading out of Leicester, i couldn't believe the change in sound! Toby 0
I've got a K&N induction on mine and seems to run fine and sound great, but I sometimes get the feeling that throttle response is a bit worse and it's a bit lumpy in traffic - it's almost as if I've got a lag of some sort when I boot it, but as soon as I get going it really shifts (my sister asked me if we were going to take off the other day when I took her in it!). don't know whether anyone else has noticed anything like this? Atlas 12v 0
Toby> Mins the same, it's just heat when sitting in traffic. But as you say once you're on the move it goes.
