*P3nfold* 0
Hey all,Just going to fit my AEM AFR, not sure where to position itMy thought is after the cat or on the 6 branches near the bottom where it becomes 2 to 1.Whats your thoughts?
cabrioman 6
id say you need it before the cat so you get a reading of what the engine is doing not what the car it doing !! are you going to start to use it or just fitt the sensor ???
*P3nfold* 0
Thanks Tony, I am just researching at the moment. I have got the 6 branches with no exhaust wrap on them, and I have cat back on. So I just wanted to know the best location. I was thinking about putting the sensor at the bottom of 6 branches? Unless you had some magic trick where u placed yours before?
cabrioman 6
mine was in the decat i think the bottom of the 6 branch would be good so would need a lamda bung welded into the pipe ...
*P3nfold* 0
I got a lamba bung with the kit, I will ask Paul if he could weld it in when I pick up "Harry's" old engine.

*P3nfold* 0
Hey Craig, I wont be running a decat on this setup as its just too much noise for me lol I am getting old lol.I did think about the Cat but not sure where though?
FishWick 21
The stock cat has a lambda socket in it, which is where I would put it personally. You may need to check the lamdba socket can take wideband though because narrowbands have smaller diameter tips. You will see what I mean when you try and screw a wideband probe into a narrowband hole!Good choice of wideband kit. I like that AEM setup very much.
*P3nfold* 0
Thanks Kev, does this mean a normal lamba bung will not work with wideband afr due to the diameter tip?
FishWick 21
You just need to make sure the wideband will screw fully into the boss without fouling. Some narrowband bosses aren't wide enough for wideband!
