VR6Pete 1,455
They are a bit of a pain to do as you gotta knock the old ones out! And drop the rear axel. If you have a brake bias valve they usually don't come off easy either!! Id recommend getting a few prices! Try Vince at stealth racing see what his price is!Cheers.

VR6Pete 1,455
Well you won't have the brake compensator valve thingy on a 1997! Depends on the condition of your bushes.. I was lucky, mine fell out after a couple of whacks, but I've seen others take alot alot longer!
andynick69 0
just not that confident in having a go,cheers anyway
HAMMER_VR6 0
I think that quote is very high. They dont need to use any specialist tools and can be done in couple of hours.Im no mechanici did mine by only jacking up one rear corner at a time, there is enough flex in the rear beam to allow this. remove nut and bolt. Make sure you dont bend your brake lines though. I didnt even need to disconnect them.Removing the bush from the beam is time consuming but not difficult, simply drill a large hole in the rubber. get a hacksaw blade in there and cut through the rubber and metal bush case. Bush then will simply tap out and new one slide in. Make sure they use a new nut and bolt also.
Ben Seabrook 4
I think that quote is very high. They dont need to use any specialist tools and can be done in couple of hours.so it's about right then !! garages these days inmo will charge you £100 for the most simple job so anything like this that will in reality take them 3 hours your going to be paying that sort of money, plus it isnt that much for someone who isnt mechanically minded to pay as you could quite easily balls it up !! HAMMER_VR6 0
yeah thats quite true actually, i avoid professional garages like the plague, so forget how much they charge. You need to make a friend in the trade and ask them to do it on the side. But of course you must tell the tax man.
