rsweeney 40
i unexpectingly found today that the automatic gearbox oil cooler is clogged up with half a ton of stuff ( possably radweld from previous owner.) Unfortunatly it is a sealed unit how do i go about removing the clooged up stuff as it isnt rockhard its almost like wet sand . here is a pic of the cooler
Antihero1981 8
i would try maybe a high pressure hose ect , the water wont flow to quick as i am pretty sure its like a rad inside , i have hooked mine up to an external cooler to help reduce heat even more
rsweeney 40
cheers , the power hose worked a treat and all the gunk has washed through. all i can say is that radweld is a total waste of money... out of interset how does it run with the external cooler ? CALICO 130
im interested Antihero as i/ll be running turbo and auto have you got temp sensor in the gearbox
Antihero1981 8
no temp sensor , i have hooked mine up to the charge cooler return so water flows from tank in boot to charge cooler > passes through charge cooler then directed to gearbox cooler then through mini rad then back to tank in boot the temp from the charge cooler should keep the gearbox at a nice level , you dont want to cold as it will damage and you dont want to hot eitheri am running 300bhp through the standard auto box and so far so good 2 years later no issues...touch wood...lol....i got a 12 litre tank in boot for charge cooler set up
