porsche boxster twists fitted but problems..!

Recommended Posts

Hi all, just fitted my boxster twists.. but have a slight problem. The fronts are fine, but the rears are 8.5j fitted with stretched 205/40 rubber and sit in the arch just right with 25mm adaptors (arches have been rolled also) however were the rear bumper meets the wheel arch is rubbing on the top of the tyres when suspension compresses.. i cant see any way around this other than to adjust the camber and the toe angle slightly with use of either camber shims or washers. any further sugestions or anyone had this issue before? cheers all.

ha ha yeah that makes sense well if the tread is inside you might be able to adjust the rears to pull it in but its harder as you cant adjust the camber with the suspension like you can on the front ! If you have coilies on the back if might be worth turning them up a couple of mm to see if that cures it but otherwise as you say its camber shims or something similar mate or swop your 25mm adaptors for someone with 20mm adaptors ?

also as you have just put them on if you havent already then it might be worth getting the 4 wheel alignment & tracking etc all done and then should tell you what the camber is when they do that too :) my wheels were 8 x16 et 35 and with 25mm adaptors they sat perfectly although one rear arch rubbed slightly when the car was very full :)

Is it catching on the bumper?

The tyres on my RFs were catching the corner of the rear bumper and those has near enough single ET figures on the back. I had the arches rolled so I know it couldnt be the arches. When the car went in for paint we cut some the bumper away on the inside. Its not visually noticable where its been cut but its stopped the catching.

195s should help. The falkens stretch really well.
