VeedubVR 0
Ive got a satin silver mk3 which is an awesome colour and pretty rare to get hold of. Which make me think keep it the orig colur cos not many are leftThe car is going in to get bodywork tidied up along with a few small little changes. But nothing OTT, keeping this one looking farely OEM. But by the time all the panels are sorted, it makes sense for a full shoot. Perfect time for a colour change? Ive seen a few colour which I quite like (nothing larey), but is it worth the hassle? The engine would be staying in., but the obv checks wouyld be done but leaving the engine bay is kinda putting me off but I dont want o have to take everything out. Then theres re-sale value, how will that be affected? I knew I shouldnt have started looking at colour charts....
xyber 1
If your doing a colour change it needs to be everything, door shuts, engine bay etc, else it just looks wank. So that's a full strip down, engine out job, which would be about £5k if your lucky. Better off keeping the original colour
Ian_rogers 0
Keep original.... Esp if it rare!

ashmk3 0
i would go for original, unless ou intend on the engine coming out anyway. for instance smooth bay maybe. it just seems alot of hassle for a colour change. keep it original.
bungy 2
Original unless you are going full on stripped everything.
VeedubVR 0
My mate is painting it and he does an awesome job. The cars he's done have won in show and shine and all been mag featured. So colour change wouldnt be that much of a problem tbh. The car is going in for a full shoot anyway. It would be getting door shuts and boot done but its the engine bay im not sure on. I dont know if there would be time to do it cos I need the car back in a few weeks for uni. If the bay wasnt getting painted I wouldnt change the colour and id keep it silver. But i really like paint that looks deep and gives a good reflection and silver isnt quite doing that, but its still an aweomse colour. It just seems now is the perfect chance to do it. Ive never actually changed the colour on acar before so I dont know 100% what's involved, ive alway sprayed them the orig colour
b19drg 0
Got to keep it original , unless your gonna do everything , granted a silver engine bay will not be the worst colour if you decide to leave it , but if a jobs worth doing its worth doing well !! and i think Silver is a great colour for a VR and they are rare ! good luck with what ever you decide to do
