leigh vr6 0 Posted August 29, 2010 Report Share Posted August 29, 2010 hi i have a n reg golf cabrio vr6 was running fine the other day now it wont start turns over starts then cuts out after a few secs my scanner says its the immobiliser so i changed the box key reader and key with chip for that box but still does the same ifbi disconect the battery for 5 mins then connect it back up the car will start but if i turn it off then try to restart it wont again any help plz Link to post Share on other sites

I have changed the ring around the ignition barrel, made no difference, also checked and re checked all the electrics but no joy.After hours of research on the internet (many hours worth) it looks like we have 2 options.;1. replace transponder - you'll need to get it recoded by vw or someone with the software to match ket, ecu, transponderor2. Use a company who can recode the ecu to bypass the transponder (i think c2 offer this service) Link to post Share on other sites
