oak16v 0 Posted May 12, 2010 Report Share Posted May 12, 2010 Hi guys ive just completed my Mk2 VR6 conversion and ive come across a problemthe car was a bit smokey when i first got it fired up, i changed the oil and filtersand took it out the other day for my first drive in it, did around 50 miles in itand it has a slight knocking noise to it around 1000rpm to 2000rpmi looked at the oil from the dip stick and its black ish and seems thin to the touchoh and the blue ish smoke has come back again, bit gutted to be honest coz i was lookingforward to driving it this year, hope u guys can help me Billy Link to post Share on other sites

AJmk2 2 Posted May 15, 2010 Report Share Posted May 15, 2010 My VR used to run really smokey but after a few weeks of gentle thrashing occasionally and an oil change it cleared up.Check the youtube videos for chain sounds if you think its top end as that will most likely be the cause.
