Timah89 1
Is there anything that can be done to enhance the airflow through the standard throttle body apart from just giving it a good clean?? What other throttle bodies are available and how much do they cost?
FishWick 21
To make a throttle flow more, you need to increase the size of the butterfly plate, which you can't do on the standard 67mm OBD2 throttle.Mainly because A) there isn't enough meat in the housing and both ends of the throttle spindle are welded, so can't come apart. All you can do is shave off the hump, but I really wouldn't do that.If you want a different but bigger throttle, you need to find one with the same electronics inside it as the VW one, and of course the manifold will need modifying to suit aswell. In short, really not worth it for what you would get in return. FishWick 21
The OBD1 throttles can be taken apart and bored out no problem, but sadly the OBD2 one can't!

dubmad 0
can I ask why you wouldn't shave off the hump?is it because it will change the air flow on part throttle?
