spadam 7 Posted March 8, 2010 Report Share Posted March 8, 2010 Sounds like timming chains. Is it the gearbox side of engine. Is the sounds most noticable at around 1200rpm. Have a search for timming chain rattle for more information and a sound clip. Link to post Share on other sites

VR6Nat 9 Posted March 8, 2010 Report Share Posted March 8, 2010 Is it on the left hand side of the block as you look at the car with the bonnet up??If it is the left then it could be your belt tensioner pulley is shot and you need a new one, cheap and easy fix, can do that yourself....If it is coming from the right it could be your chains, if so that's a bigger and more expensive job...
