Water in drivers foot well

Guys,

the drivers footwell is water logged in my car.

Are there any common sources of water ingress in mk3s?

The car does have a sun roof but the headlining is dry so dont think its from there.

If you are losing coolant then it's possible that the matrix could be leaking... but that's more the passenger side....

it could be sunroof drainage tubes clogged up.

Could be the area around the pollen filter (so check for a build up of leaves),

what side is the pollen filter on? drivers side?

check the drainage channels which come out of the sides of the front doors mate, there is a rubber nipple about half way down make sure that is clear.

pollen filter is on the passanger side, thats where my leak came from, but the water did spread round the front and back so worth checking over

So is it the build up of leaves that causes the leak?

The passenger side of the car seems dry while the drivers side is soaking.

I will have a good look at all the places mentioned above.

well if the driver's side drainage pipe from the sunroof is blocked then yeah the water will only leak on that one side and the same with the pollen filter or any holes in the rain tray under the windscreen - there is a guide to fixing that in the knowledge vault too mate

How do you clear these drainage pipes??

if you mean the ones from the sunroof then you just need something like a washing line which you can feed down the pipe from the sunroof mate, the nipples in the door just open them up and clear out any gunk as for the rain tray check out the guide in the knowledge vault

My problems passenger side,tried pouring water down passenger side drain in sunroof and it seems to filter down door pillar and eventually into footwell?? My try the washing line method thurs when im off.ta m8

yeah well it will defo be the drain or that little rubber nipple in the door is blocked so the water is backing up and finding a way out into your footwell !!
