After some advice please. I want to go down a slightly different root than normal which a lot of my mates dont agree with but sod em. I want to go from from 16" wheels to 18" (215/35R18) with a set of ap coilovers. Will i need to do a lot of arch work. A lot of people have told me that the ride will be shockingly bad but thought id ask the experts. Any help will be much appreciated.

I had 18s on mine for a bit and although I have coilovers I had to have my arches rolled slightly so it didn't sit too high.

I have to say I loved it. Looked mean as but the ride was just terrible I really didn't want to swap them and it killed me to

get rid of them.

I now have gone back to the original 15's with coilies and the handling is unbelievably better.

It's your choice and although mine looked mental i use it as a daily driver and I just couldn't hack it in the end.

Had nothing but trouble with them on after I had them swapped for the 15s I had to have so many bits on my suspension

re-done and bearings and strut tops, not good.

As tony and craggsy has said it depends if you are going for looks more than anything, if so I would go for 17s at the most

def not 18s.

Cheers fellas. Maybe i just had a moment of madness. Although its not my daily drive i still want it to handle and ride like it should. I think ill keep my 16s for winter and go for 17s for sunny days (if we ever get any). Looking at ZCW angel rims. What do you reckon. Thanks again.

Mate ive run 18's on mine for 5 years now and i love them!! they fill the arch and the ride is not as bad as you may think for a 35 profile!! i put 17 oz polaris on my ex's gti and mine rode better and now i am on coilies its firm but not at all bad! plus i cant run smaller now ive put r32 brakes up front!!

Just adding my view! not wanting to offent anyone who run smaller rims as the vr looks sweet on anything!!
