cossymad 0
just looking for some quick advice i have a miltech exhaust on my vr but im thinking of also fitting a miltech decat pipe will i gain anymore power and is it just as easy as unbolting the cat and fitting the decat pipe
Ben Seabrook 4
you won't gain any noticeable amount of power on a normally aspirated car mate, it will make it louder and maybe rev a bit easier but thats it I believe - as for the fitting again I think it's fairly straight forward as you say

craggsy 91
They are supposed to be easy. 3 bolts at downpipe and clamp at other end. When I say easy i mean nuisance to do. It took me 3 hrs or so to get 3 bolts from down pipe end as they had rusted away a bit so were inpossible to get done. So i got the angle grinder out and ground the nuts off.....another job that turned into a day job when really its a few hours!!!
Split-Personality 0
Would you agree there isn't much of a power gain Craggsy?
bungy 2
No real power gain but quicker throttle response.

The Monk 50
Can lead to plod issues depending on how loud she sounds afterward.
Split-Personality 0
Read some threads talking about remaps, do you need one after the decat?Already have the pipe, just havn't fitted it. Got a few lambda sensor warnings now so I figured I might do it all at once...
craggsy 91
Can lead to plod issues depending on how loud she sounds afterward.Easy. Dont drive by coppers at 6000rpm then they wont know. My R is decatted and that makes a hell of a noise at high revs, but at low revs it sounds normal
Andi 0
I have a Milltek exhaust on my Vr6. I decatted it last weekend with a matching Milltek pipe.I bought a brand new Lambda sensor for it so i wouldnt have to faff about removing the old one. There is no noticeable gain or loss in torque or power. Noise has increased but only slightly.
