petrolh34d 0 Posted November 5, 2009 Report Share Posted November 5, 2009 Dunno if this is the right section, but my heater fan is really weak, and the air coming out of it is not very hot (obviously I am waiting for the car to heat up)Also when I have the air directed solely towards the windscreen, most of the airflow comes from the passenger side, and barely any comes from the drivers side. petrolh34d 0 Posted November 5, 2009 Author Report Share Posted November 5, 2009 Funny enough, my coolant resevoir is leaking water from the middle, where the two halfs are joined.I've got another one arriving tomorrow, is it likely to make a differnece when I install it? petrolh34d 0 Posted November 5, 2009 Author Report Share Posted November 5, 2009 I keep topping up the coolant, and I imagine that the water temp is pretty normal.It takes between 10-15 minutes in the morning to reach the first waypoint on the guage, and then goes up to the middle of the guage and stays there if I am sitting in traffic. VR6Nat 9 Posted November 5, 2009 Report Share Posted November 5, 2009 well if your coolant level goes a bit low that can cause your heating to be pants.... if your water temp on the gauge is high or low that would be your thermostat which can also cause it... other thing is heater matrix....So wait till you get your new coolant bottle on and filled up and see how that goes for a few days, if you're still having problems then you wanna get your heater matrix looked at. Rikki 2 Posted November 5, 2009 Report Share Posted November 5, 2009 It takes 10-15 mins to reach the 1st white mark????? i would say thermostat is stuck open. Run the car and before the fan kicks in feel the bottom hose it should be cold....if its warm the stat is stuck open and thats why your not warming up. it shouldnt steam up too much tho...its dash out if it id the matrix or as Nat you can bypass it but then you have no heaters! russj249 2 Posted November 8, 2009 Report Share Posted November 8, 2009 If the thermostat is stuck open the easy way to test it is sit in traffic and it should stay at 90.. take it for a blast down the road when it's cold and see if the water temp goes down. Mine used to go to 70 degrees.Takes 5 - 10 mins to be at normal operating temp now instead of about 15 mins. (that's 5 - 10 mins at the 2degrees that it is here at the moment) Link to post Share on other sites
