b19drg 0
how easy is it to fit a hid kit and what ones do i need ? i think its H1 and H7 ? is it just a case of bulbs ? do they last and can you put them in standard units ?
baz8328 0
i bought mine of ebay !check which bulb type you have (h4 /h7 etc )and buy the correct kit !however there is different colours of HID kits wgite , blue , purple i think. They are very easy to fit and usually only need a positive and a earth on each side .any probs ring me on 07921 519734
CALICO 130
simple to fit just make sure there mounted securly dont wanna dropping off at silly speeds ive got them in my highbeam as well no good for flashing people as they take a few seconds to warm up but once warm its like daylight no additional wiring just uprate the fuse

b19drg 0
silly question is there just one bulb in the headlamp units ? or is there 1 bulb for main /dip and one for side I could just go ut and check but its raining !!
b19drg 0
so what do i get that are legal and good ? do i just go uprated bubs fro halfords then ?
Rikki 2
None are legal...hids must be in a lamp designed for them and have self levelling for when the car is under load and must have headlamp wash. Doubtful if youll get stopped tho...lots of us have them. If you have standard gti/vr6 dual chambers you need H1 for dip and if you want H1 for main although as said take 10-15 secs to warm up so pretty pointless really!
b19drg 0
Thanks for all your help guys , so its gonna be some LED sidelights , HID kits for the dip beam and some decent bulbs for the mains ,happy days I have seen the light !
jesterwalker69 0
How hot do HID's get?I bought some bad ass bulbs for my old Vento projector lights. The projection type lens was set low and after a fair bit of use i noticed the plastic surround had started melting and that was just run of the mill lamps, not HID's!
