thegoth 5
Any advice please - from you car cleaning addicts.they are going to scream. Clue is in the name 'addicts' - no short cuts allowed. If it doesn't involve 3 buckets and five sprays it's not cleaning. ;-)
VR6Nat 9
Nige has hit the nail on the head mate, if you're gonna wash your car my advise is do it properly or dont do it at all.. you'll do your paint more harm than good... Just leave it til a day you can spare a few good hours and do it then.... and i personally wont even use a jet wash... but then i am fussy.... lol

anna 0
me and nat do a proper job and like to look after our paint. I wash with a natural shapoo and warm water and a mit then chamis. Try to wax it everytime i wash it but sometimes use a microfibre cloth and megs detailer which u can get in halfords to go over it for a quick clean. i use baby wipes for my wheels lol
VR6-DUB 3
Thanks guys for your help. The reason for me asking is beacuse each time my car goes to the hand car wash the aeriel goes from a black colour to a bronze colour ( maybe the chemical mixed with the water) and also my wing indicators and front fogs get water inside them and it is costing me each time to buy replacement bits.I tryed using a hairdryer to get the water out but no joy so bought replacement indicators and aerial.Thats why i thought i clean the car with wipes myself and no water or chemical will mess my bits up.Cheers :-d
Gavin D 0
If you are using the guys normally found at petrol stations to wash your car then yes they do use very strong Traffic Film Remover chemicals, usually they do not understand the correct ratio's to use hence the damage to the ariel. As for the wipes they are not a good idea as you will be pushing dirt/grit/dust across the paint work which will scratch/marr the surface. I personally would not waste your money on them.
