jesterwalker69 0
My baby developed a little cough and hiccup now and then. Also combined with a little pop just before she sets off again which sounds like its coming from the front of the car as opposed to out the exhaust?! Replaced plugs yesterday and still there.Hope its not coilpack as i only got that replaced last year sometime.Any other ideas wot it could be if its not coil pack, leads or plugs? jesterwalker69 0
no my bay is pretty much kept clean all the time anyway (see pics somewhere on here!) so never requires much, if any, water when i do clean it. Good thinking tho

jesterwalker69 0
Went out in car again today and realised it only struggles between 1k-2kmax, after that its fine and pulls normal. But if, when between 1-2k, you press the accelerator very gently the car will gradually accelerate through the problem RPM zone smoothly without coughing and then after 2k u can give it full throttle again.Does this narrow the problem down anymore? jesterwalker69 0
Anyone?!
Murph 0
I'm suffering/suffered (fingers crossed it's fixed now) from exactly the same probs mate.I emded up replacing plugs, leads, coil pack and MAF none did the trick. After much reading and messing about i decided to replace the ECU power relay and hey presto all is sorted! For the £10 it costs from the stealers it's worth trying it anyway! Also the fuel relay might be worth replacingHope this helps bud

kie_dub 0
how you got on with this ollie?
Caddymatt1380 0
Mine is exactly the same as this. Where would I find these relays??/
Murph 0
Below are the parts numbers for an ODB2 mk3. I beleive the part numbers remain the same for later models but best to check.Part no. for the ECU power relay (no. 109 written on it) :- 357 906 381Part no. for the fuel relay (no. 30 written on it) :- 165 906 381VW dealers are the best place to pick these things up, however places like e-bay normally have them about too, but for the £10 cost it's best to get a brand new spanker from the dealer. eltel 0
Hi all, been reading this post and thought i'd ask about similar thing on mine. I get a hesitation/ almost misfire when just resting on the throttle cruising, it will try stalling sometimes when dipping the clutch but mostly OK when sat idling. Sometimes the idle drops and then picks up again.I've vag com'd and replaced the ISV, another MAF, crank sensor, fuel pump relay and made sure everything is clean. It's still doing it. Has anyone got any ideas? It's an obd1 with vortech v2. Read fault codes again after replacing ISV tonight, came back with Oxygen sensor, idle control stabilisation and mixture control. It does smell very rich to me too.
