  1. After much deliberation i'm selling my VR. I beleive it's the autobox internals that are goning/gone and i dont have the time, know how or inclanation to fix it. Its gonna be more hassle for me to sort it all out. A smart 96' Mystic Blue Pearl with 88K and 12 months MOT will be in 'for sale' section soon
  2. Right after a lunch break of VAG-COM'ing it threw up the fault: 00652 - Gear Monitoring 27-10: Implausible Signal Gearbox and vehicle speed sensors are gonna be the next check (where ever the hell they are), Has anyone else ever dealt with this? Any help would be top Cheers Murph
  3. nice one nero, thanks for the heads up bud
  4. Good day people. As you can probably guess from the title i got myself a 'slippy' auto box! Started a few days back when reverse wasn't engaging properly. It would move back at tick-over speed, but any revs you gave it up and beyond this would just rev as if in neutural. So first off replaced tranny oil with all the gaskets and filters. The oil was near on perfect!! Anyway, as you can guess, the oil change did nowt, if anything made things worse! Now driving into work this morn, pulling away from my house and every junction on the way in wouldn't go into 1,2 or 3 and bounced about like a kanga
  5. Below are the parts numbers for an ODB2 mk3. I beleive the part numbers remain the same for later models but best to check. Part no. for the ECU power relay (no. 109 written on it) :- 357 906 381 Part no. for the fuel relay (no. 30 written on it) :- 165 906 381 VW dealers are the best place to pick these things up, however places like e-bay normally have them about too, but for the £10 cost it's best to get a brand new spanker from the dealer.
  6. I'm suffering/suffered (fingers crossed it's fixed now) from exactly the same probs mate. I emded up replacing plugs, leads, coil pack and MAF none did the trick. After much reading and messing about i decided to replace the ECU power relay and hey presto all is sorted! For the £10 it costs from the stealers it's worth trying it anyway! Also the fuel relay might be worth replacing Hope this helps bud
  7. Holy crap, theres some very tasty looking pieces there!! Love the white rims with the lime green edging too .... giving me some ideas that ^o)
  8. oh yeah, so they are! I blame it being a Monday for my lack of observation

    Auto Box

With the 4 speed auto box there is the numbering/lettering 1,2,D,R,P etc etc on the selector. Question is, are they supposed to illuminate when head lights are on?? Because buggered if mine work, neither can i get in there to replace a bulb. Any help guys? Ta very much, Murph
  11. top notch mate, you're like a VR6 god or something ^o) And i thought repairing my coil pack and bending up all my brake pipes was technical ...... Keep us informed mate!
  12. Cool! The sub-code is the 'Engine / Transmission Electrical Connection 2' I guess the ECU power relay could cause the juddering?!?! Picking one up from stealers tomorrow, so will post my findings! My hairs starting to fall out from the stress lol +o(
  13. Hey people, i am after some Vr knowledge, Since having my VR there has always been a slight judder when under load at about 1500/2000revs. In the last few weeks i have changed plugs (NGK Platinum), leads (7mm dubpower), fuel filter, fuel filter relay, have also cleaned the crank sensor, MAF and double checked the coil pack for security and hairliners. Anyway all of this seems to be to no avail :-( , the motor is running better but still juddering like a kangaroo at times. I am beginning to think it might be to do with the auto box?? Low tranny oil maybe? or am i grasping at straws? VAG'ing it
  14. Called the stealers and gave them my chassis number and reg and they came back with paint code LC5L Mystic Blue Pearl Effect!! Now im wondering if it's been re-sprayed in it's time??? I will get some pics up though mate, any comments would be cool
